Welcome to the World

Everyone, please take a moment to welcome the newest member of our extended family – Amelia “Mia” Mae. Mia is the second child (and first daughter) of my sister, Tintin, and her husband, Esquire.

Since I have not met Amelia Mae in person yet, I can’t give her a blog name. So, for now she will go by the nickname given to her by her parents.

Mia is also the first sibling to my nephew, The Prince on Wails. A word of advice to Mia – listen to your mother about big brothers, we’re all dirty rotten scoundrels that will do anything to play a trick on little sisters. But we grow out of it. Sort of.

At least we’ll stop sealing you in moving boxes.

And we will, on occasion, do a good deed or two; like taking the fall for breaking something important to your mother.

And Prince of Wails: as my father – your grandfather – once told me, your sister is the closest relative you’ll ever have; don’t be too mean to her.
