On the Eve of a New Year

As my fingers abuse the laptop’s keys for the last time this year, I pause for an out loud moment of introspection about the previous year’s events and what’s to come (or more to the point, what I hope to accomplish) in 2007.

The most important personal event of 2006 – the thing that gives rise to this nearly daily diatribe – is our pregnancy.

After nearly two years of trying the old fashioned way, we brought science into the picture and a month later we were pregnant with twins.

I am happy and sad at the same time that we waited so long.

If we had done it sooner, we would have our kids by now. But they wouldn’t be these two – our twins, our boy and girl. And I couldn’t bear that.

Which brings me to the forward looking statements for 2007 – a sort of New Year’s resolution list.

Things I want to accomplish in 2007:

· Have healthy, happy twins
· Be the best father & husband that I can be
· Drop a few pounds through better eating and exercise
· Work more on my writing
· Make more money

That’s a simple, high level overview of my resolutions for 2007. They can – and will – be greatly expounded upon as the year progresses.

How about you? Do you have any resolutions you feel strongly enough about to say to the world?

I made a resolution years ago ... to never make resolutions. It works for me.

You've got an exciting year ahead of you. All the best!
