On the Road Again

First a bit of an apology.

Many of you have come to expect daily information/rants on the male half of the pregnancy front. And I have let you down.

But I do have a reason (but I’m not going to use it as an excuse).

P.Pie and I have been planning a road trip to Ft. Worth, Tx., with some trepidation on my part. While P.Pie is a great travel companion, I was concerned how the kids would feel about driving all day. Turns out P.Pie was great, the kids were great, the drive was great (well, as great as driving long distance can be).

Anyhoo, we were going to leave Thursday morning, but if you have watched the news at all, Denver and all of the Front Range (also known as the I-25 corridor) experienced a blizzard.

Well, all the local news outlets were warning about the storm Wednesday. When we got home from work, we discussed all the options and decided it would be best if we hit the road ASAP.

So we loaded up the car, dropped Beej (the dog) at Picasso and The VP’s house and headed out for Tejas.

And it’s a good thing we did.

We stopped in Raton, NM and spent the night. When we got up in the AM, the news was saying all of the Front Range was socked in and if you don’t have to travel, don’t. Of course in New Mexico, the sky was clear and the roads were fine.

So we’re here, safe and in one piece. And I won’t be posting again until Monday, my apologies for not mentioning it earlier.
