It's a Dry Heat

Today, Arapahoe Basin (A-Basin to the locals) ski area opened, setting an all time early open record.

To be fair, they sort of cheated. This was the first year they had snow making equipment. In their defense, every other ski area that competes in the first-to-open contest has had snow making capabilities for years. A-Basin has naturally won more times than not.

In years past, I have skipped work and hit the slopes, board in hand. Alas, not this year.

I am in the land of perpetual sun. They tell me it's a dry heat, but don't you believe it. Not for a minute; it's not true. Not a bit.

Contrary to what Arizonians might say, 97 with no humidity feels like 90, at best. The high in Denver was 77. Where would you want to be?

I just wanted to say hello, since I've been reading your blog for months and months now. As a Colorado native living here in Denver, I love hearing little snippets about our town or things you've been out and about doing. The Squeaker is beautiful and getting more so with each new picture! Thanks for your sense of humor and fun observations - and thanks even more for all the posts the month of October! They make my morning that much better before I trudge off to the misery of I-25. If I ever see you out and about, I'll be sure to say hello. Until then, have a great time in AZ! -Lindsay
