Tactile Weapons

Squeaker has jumped up a notch or two on the ol’ hand-eye coordination scale.

I’m not exactly sure when it happened, but I noticed it this week. Of course, this could have been the very first time, but I don't think so. As the above cell phone camera picture documents, she has developed the ability to grab the giraffes on the bouncy chair.

I’m not talking about some lucky, I-just-happen-to-put-my-hand-out-and-their-was-the-giraffe kind of grab. Rather, the purposeful – and repeated – outstretching of the arm with a committed look in her eye. The giraffe, swaying to and fro, was practically willed into her free hand.

Simply amazing.

That and she can fit her whole fist into her mouth.

Of course she occasionally forgets to curl her fingers up and she makes a slight gagging sound as she puts all four fingers down her throat.

Upon reflection, perhaps I need to keep an eye on that kind of behavior.

Anyway, I’m excited that Squeaker’s hand-eye coordination has started to improve. As a reward for both of us, I’ve put a wireless Xbox360 controller in her crib.

We’ll be racing each other Need for Speed video game style in no time.

We have the same bouncy chair. Just wait until her favorite game is to pull the giraffes off the velcro. Provides minutes of fun.

Miss you!!!!

She is so adorable! I love hearing you enjoy each new acomplishment! That is certainly the joy of having a baby!
One time was renting a game for my husband at blockbuster and the clerk thought I was married to a nut that he still played video games. It struck me as weird since he, his brothers, and all his adult male friends... play all the time. Turns out he's the wierd one!

We let our 2-year-old play the Wii, and we thought we were being progressive! Teeheehee... Glad to hear that Squeaker is moving on to the more fun stage... Just wait until she can roll over to get a better look at you! Melts your heart every time...

I think Squeaker was using the force on the giraffe. You have a little padawan jedi on your hands!
